Team building games and exercises including: Who Killed King John, trying to sit in a spare chair, telling a story using someone else's hands, impressions of someone's appearance, someone sat in a chair and guessing what they are doing, 

These games allowed the group to work on communication, using failure as a learning device, how to deal with pressure, coming up with workshop ideas for our own projects, reducing stress, utilising an individuals skills, creativity with problem solving (e.g. Michael moving the chair Tom was trying to sit in).

Additionally, we looked at the eight possible projects we could work on and annotated them with questions we had about them. 

My top three choices were: Gressenhall, working with university staff to make customer service videos, and the IntoUniversity to help students from disadvantage backgrounds.

 24th February    We started off with games in a circle, i.e. splat, and discussed why we use circles in drama. Mostly because there is no hierarchy and everyone can see everyone. Easy space to share ideas and feel included.  Then we got into small groups and created a photocopying machine with our bodies and sounds, and then a soundscape of a stormy sea atmosphere.  We then went got into all of our groups and were given tasks to work on and then show to the other groups. Our task was to create a bad customer service and a good customer service scenario that takes place in a library. The feedback we got was to act more like adults and not like students, as well as not making it so pantomime-y good and bad scenarios.  Alex still hasn't responded to our email so we haven't been able to set up a meeting yet and get started. W have been watching staff training videos for some inspiration.

10th February 2022

 10th February 2022 We got into our groups and created a pitch for an archaeological based arts project, in which a tomb was found in the Norfolk area. We decided to create a fete that would take place over a weekend in which there would be various age-based activities. For older users there would be tours and talks, for younger users there would be re-enactments, pottery making etc. The problems that arose were time restrictions, security and health and safety.   We then went on to discussing what we need to do as a group to get our project started, Mel (our spokesperson) was absent from the session and she still needed to contact Alex. Hindered from starting, we researched training videos.

3rd March

 3rd March  We met Alex for our first meeting. He told us that we would be making a staff training video for the accommodation team at UEA. The main points were that the video needed to be realistic with real emotion depicted in a good scenario and a bad scenario. The accommodation team are looking to work on their relationships with students, moving more from a parent-child relationship to adult-adult.  Our next step is to talk to a member of the accommodation team and find out what they want to get out of the videos as well as make the videos verbatim by discussing their good and bad experiences with students.  Additionally, we want to talk to students in first year about their experiences with accommodation since our own experiences might be quite unusual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
